DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's soccer head coach
Kieran Hall announced Wednesday the signing of two of the top recruits nationally –
Natalie Chudowsky and
Sofia Nuñez – who will join the Blue Devils in 2026.
Chudowsky has represented the United States on numerous youth national teams, while Nuñez has competed for many Mexico youth national teams as well. Both competed in the 2025 U-17 Women's World Cup in Dominican Republic with the U.S. and Mexico, respectively.
"We are extremely excited to welcome both Natalie and Sofia to Duke," said
Hall. "Both have shown that they are young, extremely talented players that have a hunger to improve, to showcase all of the qualities at this level and we're excited to welcome them in."
Both Chudowsky and Nuñez are expected to graduate in December from high school and enroll at Duke in January of 2026.
Natalie Chudowsky

- Over her three years of high school soccer, registered 49 goals, 47 assists and 145 points.Did not play as a senior
- Larry Briggs Award in 2022 as the MVP of the state tournament finals
- Helped lead her Staples H.S. squad to the state championship as a freshman in 2022
- Served as a captain for both her New York Soccer Club and Staples H.S. squads
- Competed for the Dominican Republic Youth National Team in 2022 at the U-15 level
- An All-America selection as a sophomore and junior
- A three-time All-League, two-time All-State, two-time All-New England honoree
- Girls Academy Northeast Conference Champions in 2024 and 2025
- Girls Academy League National Talent ID Selection (2022-25)
Hall on Chudowsky:
"Natalie's trajectory is really positive. She is very athletic, has excellent technical ability and her range of passing is exceptional. Natalie is physically strong, so I think she'll be able to cope with this level really well. She's extremely versatile, a holding midfielder by trade, but most recently, she's been playing with the national team at center back. So, she has lots of versatility that we could really lean into and see how she can help us."
Sofia Nuñez

- Received eight call ups with Mexico Youth National Teams as a junior and senior.Competed in international friendlies against Columbia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Spain and Portugal
- Owns two international goals with Mexico
- Represented Mexico at the 2025 U-17 Torneo 4 Naciones and finished as the runner-up
- With Rebels Soccer Club, was a five-time captain, three-time ECNL Southwest First Team All-Conference honoree
- In three years of high school soccer, tallied 31 goals, 20 assists and 82 points.Did not play as a senior
- Two-time CIF San Diego Section First Team and Metro Mesa All-League First Team selection
- CIF San Diego Section D-I Champions as a sophomore
- A two-time All-Sport Winter Athlete of the Year at Bonita H.S., as a sophomore and junior
- Helped Bonita to Metro Mesa League Championship and named Second Team All-League as a freshman

Hall on Nuñez:
"Sofia is an extremely gifted young player. She can do things with the ball that are extremely special and unique. Sofia has outstanding ability, range of passing and one v one quality. She's going to be really exciting for people to watch and to play with. She's getting better and better. Sofia is coming from an excellent club environment with the Rebels in Southern California and then currently with San Diego Surf, so she has extremely well-rounded development behind her. We're looking for her to come in and have an immediate impact, no doubt."
