2026 Duke True Spotlight: Abigail Gerdeman

Duke field hockey head coach Pam Bustin and the program are excited to welcome a talented group of newcomers to the Blue Devil program in 2026. The Blue Devils are set to highlight each of the newest Duke True members over the next two weeks. Up next is Abigail Gerdeman, a midfielder from Chester Springs, Pennsylvania
Headed to Durham by way of North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and The Netherlands, this group features a unique set of talents and field hockey experiences. While varying in position, one thing is certain - Duke field hockey got better on and off the turf with the addition of this outstanding young cohort.

Learning More About Abigail
Abigail was a standout field hockey player at The Hill School and finished her high school career ranked in the Max Field Hockey Class of 2026 top-10 rankings. During her time with the Rams, she was a Max Field Hockey Pennsylvania all-region performer and was tabbed to the Max Field Hockey All-America Third Team in 2024.
On the national level, Abigail has competed for USA Field Hockey on multiple occasions, most recently aiding the red, white and blue to a silver medal at the 2026 U-21 Pan American Cup. She also competed on the U.S. Women's National Indoor Team in 2024-25 and earned selections to the U-18 Women's National Team in 2024 and 2025.
