A member of the 1951 lacrosse team that finished as the national runner-up, Gene Corrigan went on to a unique career as an administrator of collegiate athletics.
The Baltimore, Maryland native has occupied every desk imaginable in athletics. He has served as the lacrosse coach at Washington & Lee University, the Sports Information Director and Director of Athletic Programs at the University of Virginia and the Athletic Director of Notre Dame.
Upon his graduation from Duke in 1952, Corrigan began his career teaching Latin, English and history while coaching football, basketball and lacrosse at St. Paul's School in Baltimore.
Corrigan has served as the Commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, a prominent member of several NCAA committees, and has been a driving force in shaping collegiate athletics today.
