Duke University Athletics welcomes trained Service Animals to Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. A Service Animal is a dog individually trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities, including physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disabilities. Service Animals must remain under control at all times and be leashed or tethered unless doing so interferes with their trained tasks. Additional guidelines include:

In North Carolina, Service Animals in Training are granted the same access rights as fully trained Service Animals. Guidelines for Service Animals in Training include:
Trainers are liable for any damage caused by the Service Animal in Training while on Duke University property. Violations may result in exclusion from the facility.
Therapy dogs, emotional support dogs, and companion dogs are not classified as Service Animals under the ADA and are not permitted at Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium.
It is strictly prohibited to bring alcohol into Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. Individuals found violating this policy will be subject to ejection from the building.
An ATM is located outside the Scott Family Athletics Performance Center next to the Ticket Office windows. The ATM dispenses cash in $20 increments but does not accept deposits.
Bags are permitted into Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. All bags are subject to bag checks upon arrival.
Banners and signs are permitted inside Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. However, Duke Athletics reserves the right to prohibit or require the removal of any banner or sign that obstructs the view of other fans, obscures venue signage, resembles an advertisement, or is deemed obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate, or derogatory.
Hand-held still cameras are permitted for personal use only inside Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. Cameras with lenses longer than four (4) inches are not allowed. Video cameras are strictly prohibited from filming competitions.
There are no concessions sold in Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium during fencing events. No food or open beverage containers are permitted on the gym floor during the event.
Listed below are the GPS addresses for match day parking. On the Duke University parking map, use the “Directions” button in the upper left corner to generate turn-by-turn directions from your starting location. Please check the Parking and Traffic alert if fencing crosses over with other on-campus events.
In case of emergency, contact the nearest Duke Athletics staff member or call Duke Police at (919) 684-2444. Blue light emergency phones are located in the game day parking areas.
All doors to Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium will open 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition each day. Guests with purses, bags, and strollers are subject to search. Main entry doors are directly off the Gymnasium floor, located adjacent to the front of Wilson Recreation Center.
Duke Athletics expects all fans to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during, and after the competition. Fans are expected to treat other fans, players, coaches, and officials with courtesy. Please join us in creating a fun, safe, family atmosphere at Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium by avoiding the following behaviors:
Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest. Fans should contact event staff in Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium if they feel someone is not acting appropriately.

If any article is lost or found in the gym, please inquire about or report the item to any event staff member or the Event Manager. Items turned in during the game will be dropped off to the Event Manager. All lost and found items not picked up prior to the end of the game will be available for pick-up starting Monday after the event by contacting Duke Game Operations at (919) 668-5658 or duaa-gamedayops@duke.edu. Unclaimed lost and found items will be retained for thirty (30) days following the event. After that time, any unclaimed items will be discarded.
The Johnson Family Team Store, located in Scott Family Athletic Performance Center, is open for your shopping convenience. For store hours during the Duke Fencing meet, visit dukestores.duke.edu/hours.
All pets (including dogs) are prohibited inside Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. Exception: Service animals are allowed to assist those with disabilities.
Only Duke personnel and approved media and photographers will be allowed into the press areas. All media or photographers should contact the Duke Sports Information office at least two days prior to the meet to confirm approval.
For the safety and game day experience of all guests, the following items are prohibited from entering the venue:
Duke University reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the gym. Items left unattended outside the venue will be dealt with as deemed appropriate by gym officials, including disposal. Duke University is not responsible for any unattended items.
Restrooms in Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium open 30 minutes prior to the start of competition each day. Restrooms are located adjacent to the Gymnasium next to the weight room. Accessible restrooms are located inside the Wilson Recreation Center. Directional signage is posted throughout the facility.
All Duke home fencing events at Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium are free to the public, and no tickets are necessary. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis on the bleachers surrounding the competition area. There is no spectator seating on the upper level. Accessible seating is available at the end of each bleacher.
Smoking (including e-cigarettes & vaping) is not allowed in Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. Duke University is a no-smoking campus.
Umbrellas are permitted inside Wilson Recreation Center Gymnasium. For safety, please keep umbrellas away from the competition area. For courtesy and safety, umbrellas should remain closed and stored against the gym wall.
