DURHAM, N.C. ? The 2007 ACC Women's Soccer Championship will kick off on Wednesday at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., with the seventh-seeded Blue Devils going up against second-seeded Wake Forest at 5:00 p.m.
Duke closed the regular season on Saturday with a 1-0 loss at 25th-ranked Clemson to finish with an 8-4-6 overall and 3-3-4 league mark. The Blue Devils are listed 27th in the latest Soccer Buzz poll. Wake Forest is currently 22nd in the Soccer America and 11th in the Soccer Buzz polls released on Monday and features an 11-5-3, 6-2-2 ACC mark. The Demon Deacons and Florida State were tied for second in the ACC standings, but Wake Forest won the tiebreaker to earn the No. 2 seed.
Earlier this season, Duke and Wake Forest tied, 1-1, in Winston-Salem, N.C., as Blue Devil sophomore CJ Ludemann registered the game-tying goal in the 78th minute. In the overall series, Duke leads with an 11-4-2 mark.
The last time the Blue Devils and Demon Deacons faced each other in the ACC Tournament was in 2004 as Duke won 3-0 in the quarterfinals. In 1997, the Blue Devils advanced past the quarterfinals against WFU with a 4-3 win in penalty kicks, after the two squads were knotted at 2-2 through overtime. The other time the two squads faced each other in ACC Tournament action was in 1996 as the seventh-seeded Demon Deacons upset second-seeded Duke, 3-2 in the quarterfinals.
Duke owns an all-time record of 11-19-2 in the ACC Tournament over the 19 years. The Blue Devils have advanced to the semifinals in four out of the last five years and 11 times in their 19 appearances.
Head Coach Robbie Church is in his seventh season at the helm of the Blue Devils and owns an overall record of 164-101-26 as a women's soccer head coach.
The winner of the Duke/Wake Forest match will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of third-seeded Florida State and sixth-seeded Boston College. The semifinal match will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

? Duke has registered six ties this season which is one shy of matching the single season record set in 2002.
? Senior Allison Lipsher has registered 31 career shutouts and is three away from tying the Duke career mark held by Melissa Carr, who played from 1992-95. Lipsher is also four shutouts shy of matching the ACC career mark held by Aly Winget (35) of UNC.
? Sophomore Elisabeth Redmond has totaled 11 assists on the season, which is tied for second on the all-time single season chart at Duke. Redmond has also notched a team-best three game-winning goals, while also posting eight assists on goals that have tied the match or goals that were game-winning.
? The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) office released the 2007 All-ACC squads on Tuesday with three Blue Devils earning accolades. Junior Lorraine Quinn and sophomore Elisabeth Redmond were named to the All-ACC first and second teams, respectively, while Rebecca Allen was selected to the All-Freshman team by a vote of the league head coaches.
? Sophomore KayAnne Gummersall continues to be hobbled with an ankle injury that occurred earlier this season. Duke's leading goal scorer from a year ago with seven goals has yet to score this season and has totaled one assist. She missed three matches in October but has played the last three contests. She is still not 100 percent healthy and will not be until after the season is over.
? Duke is coming off a 1-0 shutout loss at 25th-ranked Clemson. It marked the first time the Blue Devils had been shutout since Sept. 27 against fourth-ranked Virginia. They had scored at least one goal in eight straight matches.
? A total of 10 Blue Devils have scored at least one goal this season, while 15 Blue Devils have posted one or more assists.
? In the NCAA stats, Duke ranks 59th in goals-against average (0.821) and 64th in save percentage (0.828). In the individual categories, Elisabeth Redmond ranks 99th in points per game (1.28) and eighth in assists per game (0.61), while Allison Lipsher is 65th in goals-against average (0.815) and 69th in save percentage (0.83).
? Duke has only lost four matches this season and all four came against ranked opponents-- second-ranked Texas A&M (2-0), fourth-ranked Virginia (2-0), 12th-ranked North Carolina (2-1) and 25th-ranked Clemson (1-0).
? The Blue Devil defense has not allowed more than two goals in any matches this season.
