DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University senior Konrad Dudziak has been selected to participate in the 2009 National Wrestling Coaches Association All Star Classic on Nov. 22. This year's event will be held in Titan Gym in Fullerton, Calif.
Being invited to the NWCA All-Star Classic is a prestigious honor in that it is meant to showcase the top collegiate wrestlers from across the country. The NWCA Classic will pair the top-ranked collegiate wrestlers in a dual meet format.
Duke's first wrestling All-American, Dudziak recently was tabbed No. 2 by WIN Magazine preseason rankings in the heavyweight division. The native of Bayonne, N.J., is coming off a season in which he finished runner-up at the NCAA Championship.
Dudziak closed out his junior season with a 31-3 record, winning the ACC title at heavyweight. He captured four tournament titles during the year and was the runner-up three times.
The Blue Devils kick off the season on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at the Freshmen and Sophomore Open and Hokie Open, respectively.
