DURHAM, N.C. – After leading the Duke women's soccer program to another successful season on the field, Blue Devils Kayla McCoy, Taylor Racioppi and Ella Stevens were tabbed All-Atlantic Region by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.
The Blue Devils, who finished the 2018 campaign with 16 wins and a spot in the NCAA Round of 16 for the eighth-straight postseason appearance, were led by McCoy. She was also one of the most decorated Blue Devils in NCAA Tournament history, finishing second in program history in postseason play with 18 points, third with seven goals and tied for seventh with four assists.
A native of Ocean Township, N.J., Racioppi also put together a standout senior campaign, scoring a career-high nine goals and earning 20 points. Her nine scores finished tied for seventh in the league, with six of those goals came in ACC action. That total was third in the conference. The All-ACC Second Team selection also made waves on the national level this season, as her bending game-winning score at Clemson landed at No. 8 on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays. On the career side, Racioppi finished her Blue Devil career with 221 shots taken, which stands sixth in DWS history.
The Blue Devils' assist master in 2018, Stevens was the leader of a squad that is fifth in the ACC and 20th in the nation with 44 assists. The All-ACC Second Team selection tallied 11 this year, which tied her career high set last season. The Grayson, Ga., native finished second in the conference and 10th in the NCAA in dimes, while dropping five in league play that came in third. On the career side, Stevens currently has 28 assists heading into her senior season, which puts her fourth all-time in DWS history and 14 behind the school record held by Andi Melde (1994-97).
