DURHAM, N.C. – After another successful season in one of the top conferences in the country, three members of the Duke women's soccer program reeled in All-ACC honors on Thursday, announced by the league office.
The Blue Devils, who finished tied for fifth in the league with a 3-1-6 record in ACC play, were led by the duo of senior
Ella Stevens and sophomore
Delaney Graham, who were both named to the All-ACC Second Team. Freshman
Sophie Jones rounded out the list for the Blue Devils, receiving ACC All-Freshman Team honors.
Stevens has been an offensive catalyst for Duke this season, earning All-ACC honors for the fourth consecutive season. The Grayson, Ga., native was also named to the second team in both 2017 and 2018, while receiving All-Freshman Team honors her freshman season. This season, she leads the team in points with 22, while tying for the team lead in goals scored with eight. Her 82 career points place her sixth all-time in Duke history, while she ranks amongst the top five in program history in career goals scored (24) and career assists (34).
Graham has anchored the defensive line for the Blue Devils this season, helping the team eight shutouts on the campaign—including four against top 15 opponents. The Atlanta, Ga., native has recorded four assists on the season, which ties for third on the squad. The Blue Devil sophomore registered a career-high two assists in the matchup against Syracuse on Oct. 27, helping Duke to four goals against the Orange.
Jones, the 2019 Gatorade National Player of the Year and 2018 United Soccer Girls National Player of the Year, started every contest for the Blue Devils prior to suffering a season-ending injury prior to the matchup at Virginia Tech. The Menlo Park, Calif., native recorded one assist on the season, which came in the ACC Opener with NC State. With the All-Freshman Team honor, Duke has now had at least one player named to the ACC All-Freshman Team for 19 consecutive seasons.
The 12th-ranked Duke women's soccer team will learn their path to the 2019 NCAA College Cup on Monday, Nov. 11, during the Women's Soccer Selection Show.
