DURHAM, N.C. – Redshirt junior
Brooke Heinsohn of the Duke women's soccer program reeled in 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-South Region Third Team honors, announced earlier Monday by the organization.

A native of Norfolk, Mass., Heinsohn held strong in the goal for the Duke defense this season as the team's keeper, earning the first Scholar All-Region honors of her Duke career. She notched five solo shutouts this season in goal, while combining for four to help the Blue Devils to nine total on the campaign.

Heinsohn recorded three consecutive shutouts—all coming against ranked opponents, including two of the nation's top three teams in Virginia and North Carolina. She went a consecutive 392:50 minutes without allowing a goal, which ranks sixth in program history, dating back to 2002.

Earlier this season, Heinsohn was named to United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Third Team while also being selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District III Second Team. A member of both the ACC All-Academic Team and the ACC Academic Honor Roll across her Blue Devil career, she is pursuing a degree in sociology and political science, boasting a 3.58 GPA.
