DURHAM, N.C. – After another successful season in one of the top conferences in the country for the Duke women's soccer program, the trio of senior
Ella Stevens, redshirt junior
Brooke Heinsohn and sophomore
Delaney Graham reeled in All-Atlantic Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches on Monday.
The Blue Devils, who finished with nine wins and a spot in the NCAA Second Round for the ninth-straight postseason appearance, were led by Stevens and Heinsohn, who were both named to the All-Atlantic Region Second Team, while Graham received a Third Team selection.
Stevens proved to be an offensive catalyst for Duke this season, earning All-Region honors for the third time in her career. The Grayson, Ga., native was also named to the All-ACC Second Team earlier this season, marking the fourth year receiving conference honors. This season, she tied for the team lead in points with 22, while tying for second in goals scored with eight. Her 82 career points place her sixth all-time in Duke history, while she ranks amongst the top five in program history in career goals scored (24) and career assists (34).
A native of Norfolk, Mass., Heinsohn held strong in the goal for the Duke defense this season as the team's keeper, earning the first All-Region honors of her Duke career. She notched five solo shutouts this season in goal, while combining for four to help the Blue Devils to nine total on the campaign. Heinsohn recorded three consecutive shutouts—all coming against ranked opponents, including two of the nation's top three teams in Virginia and North Carolina. She went a consecutive 392:50 minutes without allowing a goal, which ranks sixth in program history, dating back to 2002.
Graham anchored the defensive line for the Blue Devils this season, helping the team nine shutouts on the campaign—including four against top 15 opponents, to earn All-Region honors for the first time. The Atlanta, Ga., native has recorded four assists on the season, which ties for third on the squad. The Blue Devil sophomore registered a career-high two assists in the matchup against Syracuse on Oct. 27, helping Duke to four goals against the Orange.
