CHARLESTON, S.C. – Senior Jonah Niesenbaum came away with an individual title at 285 pounds, as the Blue Devils competed in the Battle at The Citadel Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Seeded first in the heavyweight bracket, Niesenbaum defeated opponents from Truett McConnell and American in major decisions to move on to the championship bout against Gage Braun of Southeastern.
Niesenbaum defeated second-seeded Braun in a 4-1 decision to claim the individual heavyweight title.
Junior Logan Agin finished third for the Blue Devils at 125 pounds for the second year in a row, defeating The Citadel's Caelen Riley in a 2-0 decision.
Drake Doolittle and Christian Colman dropped tough semifinal matches but faced off against each other for third place. Doolittle escaped Colman with a 2-0 decision to claim third place, while Colman took fourth.

UP NEXT

The Blue Devils hit the road again next weekend, traveling to Philadelphia for the 26th annual Keystone Classic on Sunday, Nov. 20.
