DURHAM – Duke wrestling fell 37-6 to North Carolina on Friday night in its first ACC matchup of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Decisions from seniors Vincent Baker and Jonah Niesenbaum made up the Blue Devils' six points.
- Baker defeated Max Shaw of North Carolina in a tight 3-2 decision, improving to 3-1 on the season. Baker was outstanding in the top position in the third period, building his riding time to over a minute to collect the victory.
- Niesenbaum bested North Carolina's Brandon Whitman with a takedown in the first overtime period for a 3-1 decision.
- Junior Logan Agin put up a tough fight in the opening bout at 133-pounds but fell to Jace Palmer of North Carolina, 7-6.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils hit the road again Tuesday when they face App State in a 7 p.m. matchup.
