Duke Falls to North Carolina in ACC Opener

DURHAM – Duke wrestling fell 37-6 to North Carolina on Friday night in its first ACC matchup of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Decisions from seniors Vincent Baker and Jonah Niesenbaum made up the Blue Devils' six points.
Baker defeated Max Shaw of North Carolina in a tight 3-2 decision, improving to 3-1 on the season. Baker was outstanding in the top position in the third period, building his riding time to over a minute to collect the victory.
Niesenbaum bested North Carolina's Brandon Whitman with a takedown in the first overtime period for a 3-1 decision.
Junior Logan Agin put up a tough fight in the opening bout at 133-pounds but fell to Jace Palmer of North Carolina, 7-6.

UP NEXT
The Blue Devils hit the road again Tuesday when they face App State in a 7 p.m. matchup.
