Gompers Earns Preseason True Freshman All-America Nod

DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman linebacker Bradley Gompers earned a place on the On3 Preseason True Freshman All-American Team.Â
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Gompers lettered three seasons at Central Catholic under head coach Ryan Lehmeier. The four-star prospect helped Central Catholic to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 6A state championship game as a senior captain.
Gompers received 2024 6A Player of the Year accolades from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Union Progress and KDKA Radio. He was also a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 selection and Pittsburgh Union Progress All-Star Team pick. Following his final campaign, he participated in the Navy All-America Football Game and was selected to the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association Big 33 Football Classic. As a junior, he guided Central Catholic to the 2024 Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League championship, its first since 2020.
According to On3, Gompers is "a gifted athlete who is a hyper-physical striker."
