DURHAM, N.C. - Duke men's basketball returns to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Dec. 20, to face Texas Tech. The matchup will air on ESPN at 8 p.m.

The Blue Devils and Red Raiders are both coming off deep runs in the NCAA Tournament, with Duke advancing to the Final Four and Texas Tech playing in the Elite Eight.

Texas Tech posted a 28-9 overall record last season, including a 15-5 mark in Big 12 play to finish second in the conference standings. The Red Raiders matched the program record with a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the program's third Elite Eight.

During the 2024-25 campaign, under the direction of third-year head coach
Jon Scheyer, the Blue Devils made the program's 18th Final Four appearance, captured Duke's 23rd ACC Tournament crown, secured the program's 21st regular-season championship, and recorded a 30-win season for the 17th time, finishing 35-4 overall.

Entering the 2025-26 campaign, Duke boasts six returners from last year's squad, while also welcoming the nation's top-ranked recruiting class.

This will mark the third meeting between the Blue Devils and Red Raiders. The series began on Dec. 20, 2018, also at Madison Square Garden, when Duke posted a 69-58 victory. In the last meeting, the Blue Devils secured a 78-73 triumph in a Sweet Sixteen matchup during the 2022 NCAA Tournament in San Francisco.

Duke's 2025-26 non-conference slate features seven opponents that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago, including Texas (Nov. 4, Charlotte, N.C.), Kansas (Nov. 18, New York, N.Y.), Arkansas (Nov. 27, Chicago), Florida (Dec. 2, Durham, N.C.), Michigan State (Dec. 6, East Lansing, Mich.), Texas Tech (Dec. 20, New York, N.Y.) and Michigan (Feb. 21, Washington, D.C.). Of those teams, five advanced to the Sweet 16, with three reaching the Elite Eight.

The Texas Tech contest will be Duke's second outing at Madison Square Garden during the fall campaign, as the Blue Devils clash with Kansas on Nov. 18 at The World's Most Famous Arena.

Duke is 42-18 (.700) in the modern version of Madison Square Garden and 48-24 all-time in the venue, dating back to a Jan. 1, 1944, matchup with LIU Brooklyn. The Blue Devils also own a 103-34 (.752) record in current NBA arenas.
