DURHAM, N.C. – On Thursday, Golfweek announced its preseason All-America teams with a pair of Duke women's golf freshmen included on the list.
Rianne Malixi was selected Second Team All-America while
Avery McCrery was honored as Third Team All-America.
Malixi was the only freshman recognized on the first and second team, while McCrery was one of four rookies on the third team.
A native of Manila, Philippines, Malixi was the top-rated recruit in the 2025 class and has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the Women's Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). She is coming off a very impressive 2024 season where she won the U.S. Women's Amateur, U.S. Girls' Junior and the Australian Master of the Amateurs. Malixi also turned in top-5 placements at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, European Ladies Amateur, KLPGA Korea Women's Open and Women's Amateur Asia Pacific. She became just the second golfer to win two USGA Championships in the same calendar year. Over her career on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Malixi totaled seven wins, 18 top-5, 20 top-10 and 25 top-20 finishes.
McCrery, who hails from Wilmington, Del., is coming off a solid career on the AJGA with eight victories, 29 top-5, 47 top-10 and 54 top-20 finishes. She also featured an impressive 2024 season with wins at the Girls' Junior PGA Championship and the Scott Robertson Memorial while also placing in the top 10 at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship and the Fortinet Girls Invitational. McCrery was rated as the No. 2 recruit in the 2025 class rankings. She was a member of the 2024 Junior Solheim Cup with the United States and was a 2024 AJGA First Team All-America selection.
Malixi and McCrery combined have won three USGA titles and 15 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) victories. The duo has also combined for 47 top-5, 67 top-10 and 79 top-20 finishes on the AJGA.
Duke is set to open the 2025 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Sept. 8-10 in Lake Elmo, Minn.
