DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach Manny Diaz announced Tuesday that cornerback Kyon Loud has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Blue Devil gridiron program.
Loud played in 20 games with seven starts for Montana over the past two years, guiding the Grizzlies to a combined record of 22-7Â with a trip to the FCSÂ playoff second round in 2024 and a semifinal berth in 2025.Â
This fall, Loud appeared in seven games, all starts, booking 25 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, four pass breakups and one quarterback pressure. He suffered an injury during September and returned for the Griz's playoff run. He carded a season-high six stops and a year-best two pass breakups versus North Dakota on September 13.
Loud, a 6-2, 175 pound native of Richmond, California, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2026 campaign. He earned Academic All-Big Sky honors in 2024.Â
As a true freshman in 2024, Loud appeared in 13 games and totaled 18 tackles, two pass breakups and one quarterback pressure. He carded a year-high four tackles versus Tennessee State on November 30. He booked two spots versus Cal Poly, Weber State and Eastern Washington with a pass breakup against Eastern Washington. Â
During his Griz career, he totaled 43 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, six pass breakups and two quarterback pressures.
