DURHAM, N.C. — Coming off an NCAA College Cup appearance in his first season as Duke women's soccer head coach,
Kieran Hall announced the 2026 schedule Wednesday.
The 2026 schedule features six teams that received bids to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, including four squads that advanced to the Round of 16 of the tournament.
Duke will open the 2026 slate on the road with a West Coast trip as the Blue Devils face Southern California Wednesday, Aug. 12, and then take on UCLA Sunday, Aug. 16, in Los Angeles, California. The season-opening contest will feature Duke against 2010 Blue Devil graduate Jane Alukonis, who is the head coach of the Trojans.
The Blue Devils will then return to Durham for their home opener Thursday, Aug. 20 versus FIU at Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium. Duke hosts Rhode Island Sunday, Aug. 23 as well. Both matches will kick off at 6 p.m.
Overall, Duke will play four home matches over a span of five contests from Aug. 20 through Sept. 12 with the lone road match at Old Dominion (Aug. 27).
The Blue Devils welcome VCU to Durham Sunday, Aug. 30 to close non-conference action. The six non-conference opponents averaged 10 wins a year ago.
Duke will then open ACC action Saturday, Sept. 12 by hosting Stanford. Other home ACC matches include Notre Dame (Sept. 24), California (Oct. 3), NC State (Oct. 24) and Virginia (Nov. 5).
Road league contests include North Carolina (Sept. 17), Pittsburgh (Sept. 27), Boston College (Oct. 10), SMU (Oct. 16) and Florida State (Oct. 29).
Duke's 2026 schedule features 11 opponents that finished the previous season with 12 or more wins and 11 teams that closed the year in the top 71 of the final RPI. The Blue Devils will face programs that have won nine of the last 10 NCAA Championships – Florida State, North Carolina, UCLA, Stanford and Southern California.
As a team, Hall welcomes back eight starters from last year's 17-5-1 squad that advanced to the NCAA College Cup. Returning for the Blue Devils are All-America selection
Mia Minestrella, sophomore
Avery Oder, senior
Mia Oliaro, sophomore
Jocelyn Travers, graduate student
Elle Piper, senior
Cameron Roller, sophomore
Daya King and junior
Caroline Dysart.
Hall added a pair of All-America selections to the 2026 roster with the addition of transfers
Katie Shea Collins of South Carolina and
Sam Courtwright of Texas Tech. TopDrawerSoccer ranked the duo as the No. 1 transfer portal class in March. The Blue Devils also brought in three freshmen in January ahead of their rookie campaigns –
Rylee McLanahan,
Natalie Chudowsky and
Sofia Nuñez.
Duke will feature five players who have combined to score 79 career goals over their careers – Collins (23), Courtwright (9), Minestrella (30), Oder (6) and Oliaro (11). The Blue Devils return five defenders – Travers, King, Piper, Roller and sophomore
Lexi Coughlin who started at least 13 matches a year ago.
