DURHAM, N.C. - Duke punter Kade Reynoldson was named to Phil Steele's Preseason All-America Second Team, according to an announcement by the organization.Â
Reynoldson, a 6-2, 195-pound product of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, was a Freshman All-America pick by The Athletic and 247Sports.com as well as an honorable mention all-league selection in 2024. He capped the 2025 campaign by earning the John Folmer Most Valuable Special Teams Player award at the 2025 Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.Â
Last fall, Reynoldson punted 44 times for 1,963 yards (44.61), good for the eighth-highest punting average in a season in Duke history. He had 21 kicks downed inside the opponent 20-yard line against just two touchbacks while creating 22 fair catches. He ranked fourth in the ACC in total punts downed inside the 20, fifth in punting average, sixth in fair catches created, 11th in punting yards, tied for 11th in punts of 50+ yards (7) and 12th in total punts. Reynoldson joined Miami's Dylan Joyce, Oklahoma State's Wes Pahl, LSU's Grant Chadwick, Georgia's Brett Thorson and Texas' Jack Bouwmeester as the only Power Four punters to average 44.00+ yards per punt, place 20+ punts inside the 20-yard line and create 20+ fair catches.
During his freshman year, Reynoldson punted 75 times for 3,285 yards (43.80) with an ACC-high 27 downed inside the 20-yard line and 17 boots of 50 or more yards. He compiled the only 3,000-yard punting season by a Duke freshman, and one of just six in program history. He tied for fourth in Duke history in punts in a season and stood second in punting yards in a campaign. He also finished with three of the top five single-game punting averages by a Blue Devil rookie. At NC State, Reynoldson's career-long 63-yard punt pinned the Wolfpack at their own four-yard line and set up a Duke safety.
Reynoldson is a two-time Academic All-ACC selection (2024-25) who was also a 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree.
In addition, tight end Jeremiah Hasley (First Team), running back Nate Sheppard (Second Team) and center Matt Craycraft (Third Team) all earned preseason All-ACC accolades from Phil Steele.
