DURHAM, N.C. — Entering his second season as the head coach of the Duke women's soccer program,
Kieran Hall and the Blue Devils opened preseason practice Wednesday ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The Blue Devils took the field Wednesday morning with less than one month remaining until Duke opens the regular season out west.
Duke is coming off a 17-5-1 record and a trip to the NCAA College Cup for the second year in a row.
As a team, Hall welcomes back eight starters from 2025 and welcomes in a very talented mix of transfers and freshmen. Returning for the Blue Devils are All-America selection
Mia Minestrella, sophomore
Avery Oder, senior
Mia Oliaro, sophomore
Jocelyn Travers, graduate student
Elle Piper, senior
Cameron Roller, sophomore
Daya King and junior
Caroline Dysart.
Hall added a pair of All-America selections to the 2026 roster with the addition of transfers
Katie Shea Collins of South Carolina and
Sam Courtwright of Texas Tech. TopDrawerSoccer ranked the duo as the No. 3 transfer portal class over the summer. The Blue Devils also brought in three freshmen in January ahead of their rookie campaigns –
Rylee McLanahan,
Natalie Chudowsky and
Sofia Nuñez.
Duke will feature five players who have combined to score 79 career goals – Collins (23), Courtwright (9), Minestrella (30), Oder (6) and Oliaro (11). The Blue Devils return five defenders – Travers, King, Piper, Roller and sophomore
Lexi Coughlin, who started at least 13 matches a year ago.
The Blue Devils open exhibition action Aug. 5 against Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m., and then welcome the Carolina Ascent of the Gainbridge Super League Aug. 8 at 1:30 p.m. Both matches will be contested inside Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium and will be open to the public with free admission.
Duke will officially kick off the 2026 season on the road in California at Southern California Aug. 12 at 9 p.m. (ET).
