Cañado Espinal Totals Top-20 Finish at European Ladies’ Amateur

DURHAM, N.C. – Four members of the Duke women's golf program saw action recently around the world. A full recap of the tournaments is below.
Cañado Places in Top-20 at European Ladies' Amateur
A pair Duke women's golfers competed in the European Ladies' Amateur Championship July 22-25 at Allerum Golf in Sweden. Anna Cañado Espinal registered rounds of 72, 75, 69 and 73 over four days to finish tied for 19th with a 1-over, 289. Cañado Espinal's round of 69 on day three was one of eight scores in the 60s in the third round
Junior Carla De Troia posted scores of 75, 74 and 79 for a 12-over, 228, which was not enough to make the cut after 54 holes.
Li & McCrery See Action in Canadian Women's Amateur
The Duke tandem of Katie Li and Avery McCrery saw action in the Canadian Women's Amateur July 21-24 at Toronto Golf Club in Mississauga, Ontario.
Li carded rounds of 73, 79, 73 and 71 for a 12-over, 296, to finish tied for 31st. McCrery signed for rounds of 81, 69, 79 and 72 for a 17-over, 301, to place tied for 48th.
Hammond Competes on Epson Tour
In an attempt to defend her title at the Epson Tour Greater Toledo Classic July 17-19, Duke incoming freshman Mia Hammond turned in rounds of 73 and 71 for a 2-over, 144, in a weather-shortened event in Toledo, Ohio.
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to weather conditions, and Hammond officially missed the cut.
