Hammond Named Golfweek Freshman to Watch

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's golf freshman Mia Hammond has been selected as a Golfweek Freshman to Watch, as announced by Golfweek this week.
Hammond, a native of New Albany, Ohio, enters her rookie campaign coming off an impressive prep career. Over the summer of 2025, Hammond became the eighth amateur in Epson Tour history to win a professional event as she carded rounds of 66, 66 and 69 for a 12-under, 201, to claim the 2025 Greater Toledo Classic.
Over her career with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Hammond registered 11 wins, 20 top-five, 26 top-10 and 30 top-20 finishes. Hammond has competed on the national stage representing the United States at the PING Junior Solheim Cup and the Wyndham Cup. Over the last three years, Hammond has also been a member of the United States National Junior team.
Hammond and the sixth-ranked Blue Devils are set to open the 2026-27 regular season Sept. 7-9 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, which will be contested at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan. The event will be televised by Golf Channel.
