As Band Director for Duke Athletics, Jeff Au has directed both the Duke Marching Band and Duke Pep Bands for almost 20 years. His role includes comprehensive management of the bands, including music arranging, direction, budget management and student recruitment.
Au's journey before his role at Duke includes positions as the Assistant Director of Bands at Elizabeth City State University and Director of Athletic Bands at Towson University. He also gained valuable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Ohio University and the University of Notre Dame.
Au holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from Ohio University, and a Master of Arts in Music in Trumpet Performance and Literature from Notre Dame.
