Sarah Fetters rejoined Duke Athletics as the Director of Communications in August 2024, focusing on communication strategies for the football and men's tennis programs. She previously served at Duke from 2014-19, working primarily with the football and men's tennis programs and earning a promotion to Senior Associate Sports Information Director.
Before returning to Duke, Fetters held significant roles outside of athletic communications. She was the Executive Director of Alumni and Donor Communication and Marketing at the University of Missouri and the Director of Advancement Communications at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she enhanced brand and alumni engagement through strategic marketing and communication initiatives.
Fetters' athletic communications background includes roles at Vanderbilt University as the Director of Football Communications, while Sarah Fuller became the first Power 5 female football player, and at Western Michigan University as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Fan Engagement. She has also worked at Mississippi State University, the University of Texas and East Carolina University, where she honed her expertise in media relations and digital content creation.
A 2008 graduate of Wittenberg University, Fetters was elected into the Wittenberg Athletics Hall of Honor in 2023, becoming the school's first softball player inducted.
