Women's Soccer
at #5 Virginia
Leah Freeman played a key role in the Duke women's soccer team's success in 2024, anchoring a defense that recorded 12 shutouts, including four consecutive clean sheets in the NCAA Tournament. Freeman finished the season with a 0.78 goals-against average, seven solo shutouts and 52 saves.
A native of Berkeley, Calif., Freeman was named the ACC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2024, becoming the first player to earn the honor in two different conferences. Her efforts helped the Blue Devils’ 12 shutouts rank tied for sixth on the program’s single-season record list.
