Helgadottir, a freshman goalkeeper, made two saves on Thurs., Oct. 5, as No. 12 Duke shutout No. 20 Wake Forest 1-0. On Sun., Oct. 8, Helgadottir made seven saves as Duke upset No. 2 Clemson 1-0. The ACC wins move Duke into first place in the ACC standings, with a 4-1 record.
Helgadottir leads the ACC with a 0.50 goals-allowed average, allowing only three goals in 540 minutes. She has a save percentage of .900 and has now tallied three solo shutouts and one shared shutout. Helgadottir has played in eight games for the Blue Devils, starting in five of them.
Duke (10-2), ranked No. 9 in the Coaches Poll, returns to action Tues., Oct. 10, when the Blue Devils travel to Greensboro, N.C., to take on the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
