How It Happened
- Duke created an opportunity quickly to open the match as senior Mia Minestrella stole the ball and earned a corner kick. Sophomore Daya King attempted a pair of shots that were blocked and then Katie Shea Collins added a header that went high. Overall, Duke had four shots in the first 2:11 of the match, including an attempt by Minestrella that slipped just wide of the left post.
- The Blue Devils scored the first goal of the match as King took the ball near midfield and drove all the way into the left corner of the box. A product of Moreno Valley, California, King passed to Minestrella, who took a touch with her left foot, turned and rocketed a shot into the top right corner of the net to give Duke a 1-0 lead at the 4:37 mark.Â
- Duke redshirt junior Sam Courtwright had a pair of good looks, but her headers went high in the 15th and 22nd minutes.Â
- The Blue Devils made a few substitutions at the 28:34 mark, and only 23 seconds later, Duke extended its lead to 2-0. Senior Cameron Roller sent a pass near the top of the box to redshirt sophomore Lauren Martinho, who tapped it to sophomore Avery Oder. A native of Calabasas, California, Oder drove along the top of the box and placed a left-footed shot inside the right post for her sixth goal of the season. She scored only 23 seconds after entering the match.
- Duke recorded the match's first 14 shots before Boston College attempted its first shot in the 41st minute, which was saved by Blue Devil sophomore Molly Vapensky.Â
- Duke held a 14-1 advantage in shots at halftime, with Minestrella, Collins and Courtwright leading the charge for the Blue Devils.
- At the 47:11 mark, Boston College was awarded a penalty kick following a video review. Amalia Dray converted the kick to cut Duke's lead to 2-1.
- Minestrella nearly extended Duke's lead with a header off a corner kick, but her attempt went high in the 52nd minute. She had another scoring opportunity in the 75th minute, but her shot was saved.
- Collins then created a scoring chance as she took the ball into the box and crossed it in front of the goal, but an Eagles defender cleared the ball.

Quotes
- "We knew this was going to be a really difficult game. This program (Boston College) has real momentum about itself right now, and so we knew that coming here, we'd meet a Boston College team that is really motivated and has a clear identity, super fast in transition and direct. So, we were ready. We had a really good mindset going into the game, and I'm really pleased with obviously the outcome, but the performance and the grit that we showed, especially in the second half. I was really pleased." – Duke head coach Kieran Hall
