"We're pleased to come away with a win. I'm glad we were able to play everybody and work on a few different things, especially defensively. We worked on a few of our presses and traps. I think we're improving, but we still have a long, long way to go. We had several breakdowns, both offensively and defensively turn the ball over way too much. We certainly have some areas to improve upon."
On freshman class
"I think they're doing a good job coming together and beginning to
understand our system a little more. It seems like every single day in
practice they're getting better, and that's exciting to see. I think their
defense is really improving, and with our motion offense, I think it takes
awhile to adjust to and I think we still have a long way to go. I'm really
pleased with their overall effort they're quick learners, they work hard,
and I think they fit in very well to our style of play."
On her shooting performance
"I was thinking to hit the open shot because the team did a great job of
moving the ball around, and I happened to be at the right spot at the right
time."
On team's hustle
"We have to come in every game really hustling. One of our main goals is to
drive for all the loose balls, get all the loose balls, make all the hustle
plays. We want to be a team that's really tough. We've always had that in
the past, too, so this year's going to be no different. That's just the
type of team we've always been."
William & Mary Coach Debbie Taylor
"I think we played a very good team. I'm very impressed with their versatility, their depth, their athleticism. Their freshman additions will just make them a phenomenal team this year, and I wish them the best. We're young. I was pleased with the play of our young kids our freshman, our sophomores. We're building right now so that was a nice thing to see. I think we played hard. We need to work on our rebounding but, for the most part, we put out a good effort. Too many turnovers, but Duke's defense causes that. You have to give them credit."
