The Blue Devils have won five straight contests by a 44.0 margin since opening the season with a loss to Texas. Two of the five victories have come against ranked opponents- Auburn and Purdue.
Noting The Blue Devils...
The Blue Devils have won the past 18 consecutive true road contests ... over the last four years, Duke is 25-7 against ranked opponents ... as of Dec. 4, Duke has notched over 3,834 season ticket holders, which is over 500 more than last year's number of 3,328 ... of Duke's 13 members on the team, 10 are high school All-America selections ... sophomore walk-on Dana Morgan and Australian native Jessica Foley are the only players who weren't All-Americas.
A Look At Tulsa...
Tulsa enters Sunday's game with a 3-2 mark, but has lost its last two games after opening the season with three straight victories over Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and UAB. Candice Brewer (13.4 points, 5.0 rebounds), Sarah Lundberg (11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds) and Megan Moody (10.2 points, 4.8 rebounds) are each averaging double-figure points on the season.
The Golden Hurricanes are struggling shooting as they are hitting 36.0 percent from the field and 29.7 percent from three-point land. Head Coach Kathy McConnell-Miller is in her fifth year at Tulsa and owns a 56-67 record.
The Series With Tulsa...
Duke and Tulsa will meet for only the second time in school history and the second straight year. Last year, Duke won 90-36 at Tulsa in Iciss Tillis' homecoming game.
Last Year Versus Tulsa...
Iciss Tillis played the role of returning hero as No. 1 Duke mauled her hometown University of Tulsa 90-36 Dec. 21, 2002. The game marked the worst defeat in school history for Tulsa. The Hurricane had a school-record 35 turnovers, shot a season-low 27.9 percent and didn't get off a shot in the first four minutes of the game.
Tillis, a 6-4 junior from Tulsa's Cascia Hall High School, had 19 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists. All-America teammate Alana Beard had 25 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals and four assists. The tempo of the game was determined in the first four minutes. Duke (10-0) forced Tulsa into turnovers on its first eight possessions in jumping to an 11-0 lead.
Allison Curtin, a senior transfer from Illinois who began the day as the nation's fifth-leading scorer at 26 points per game, had 12 of her team-high 16 points in the first half. But her TU teammates combined for just five as Duke streaked to a 44-17 halftime lead.
The Blue Devils forced 18 first-half turnovers and were deadly from the perimeter, making seven of 11 first-half treys, led by a 3-for-3 performance by Michele Matyasovsky, who finished with 13. Sheana Mosch added 11 for Duke.
Hey, I Know You!... When the Blue Devils and Golden Hurricanes meet on Sunday it will be a reunion of some players and coaches. Duke's assistant coach LaVonda Wager and Tulsa Head Coach Kathy McConnell-Miller coached together at Illinois from 1995-96 through 1998-99.
Blue Devil Jessica Foley and Golden Hurricane Megan Moody are each from Victoria, Australia and played against each other in the Under 16/18 Championships. Iciss Tillis knows most of the Tulsa players and staff as she worked at its summer basketball camp the summer after her freshman year.
Duke Vs. The Western Athletic Conference...
Duke owns an all-time record of 3-0 against the Western Athletic Conference-- Louisiana Tech (1-0), San Jose State (1-0) and Tulsa (1-0).
Impressive Shooting...
Through six games this season, Duke is shooting 53.3 percent from the field, but the most impressive number is eight of the 10 players who have played are shooting over 50.0 percent from the field. The Blue Devils boast four players who are shooting above 60.0 percent (Mistie Bass -65.9, Brittany Hunter -65.2, Lindsey Harding -65.4 and Alison Bales -62.5) and four players hitting above 50.0 percent (Alana Beard -50.6, Iciss Tillis -51.4, Monique Currie -53.1 and Vicki Krapohl -50.0).
In The NCAA Stats...
Duke senior Iciss Tillis and senior Alana Beard each rank in the first edition of the NCAA statistics released this week. Tillis currently leads the nation with a 100.0 free throw percentage as the Tulsa, Okla., product has made 20 of 20 on the season. Beard is tied for 15th in assists with 6.5 a game.

Foley Continues To Provide Spark...
Sophomore Jessica Foley continues to provide a spark off the bench for the Blue Devils. Against Wake Forest, the Australia native collected 13 points, four assists, two blocks and one steal off the bench, which marked the third time this season she has registered double-figure points.
Foley is averaging 9.2 points and ranks third on the squad with 23 assists through six games. She has hit at least one three-pointer in four straight games, including a season-best three at Wake Forest.
School Records Set...
Over the past five games, Duke has broken a number of different school records. Against Elon, the Blue Devils won by a school-record 82 points, which broke the record of 78 against Temple on Dec. 12, 1998 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Against Purdue on Nov. 23, Duke won by 30 points over fifth-ranked Purdue, 93-63. The 30-point victory was the largest in school history against a top-five ranked opponent. It broke the previous record of 21 against second-ranked Tennessee last season in the Jimmy V Women's Basketball Classic, 76-55.
On Nov. 29 versus Stephen F. Austin, Duke shot a school-record 67.6 percent from the field and had 70 points in the second half, which was the most points scored by the Blue Devils in a single half.
The Cameron Advantage...
Since Gail Goestenkors arrived in 1992, Cameron Indoor Stadium has proven to give the Blue Devils an extra advantage as the Blue Devils have recorded an unbelievable 151-23 record. Coach G has also posted an 90-7 record dating back to the 1997-98 season. The Blue Devils recorded a 20-game ACC home winning streak from December 22, 1997 through February 3, 2000. The streak is the second longest in ACC women's basketball history behind Virginia's 30-game streak from 1992-96.
Goestenkors has totaled a 71-6 record against non-conference opponents in Cameron with the only losses coming to Boston College, Virginia Tech, UCLA, San Francisco, South Carolina and Connecticut. Coach G has posted a 21-13 overall record against ranked opponents in Cameron, but has won 17 of the last 19, dating back to 1997-98.
