Blue Devils Host Virginia In ACC Wrestling Action On Saturday

The Duke University wrestling team hosts its first home meet of the season on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7:00 p.m. against ACC foe Virginia. The Blue Devils are 6-6 on the year with a 2-0 mark in ACC action, while Virginia enters the day 7-4 overall and 1-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers will also be in action at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday against N.C. State in a key ACC contest. Duke and N.C. State are currently tied atop the ACC standings.

The top matchup on Saturday could be at 165-lbs. where Duke's Michael Mitchell will square off against 14th-ranked Tim Foley. Mitchell enters the contest with a 20-5 record and 86 career wins, which ranks seventh all-time at Duke. Foley is 25-4 on the year.

Adam Benitez will be looking to win his seven consecutive match since rejoining the starting lineup, while freshman Christian Smith has a chance to move into the top-15 at Duke in single-season wins with a victory. Smith currently holds a 24-12 record at 125-lbs.
