Senior Michael Mitchell won by technical fall at 165-lbs. and Duke won nine of the 10 matches to register a 37-3 victory over Campbell on Wednesday night at Carter Gym. The Blue Devils improve to 8-6 on the year with the win.
Mitchell scored a 25-7 victory in 5:16 over Josh Kalafchi to improve to 21-6 on the season. At 125-lbs. Christian Smith won for the 26th time this season with an injury DQ of Andy Bricker in 2:32.
Senior Adam Benitez improved to 8-0 in dual meet action with a 14-6 major decision at 133-lbs., while Andy Soliman collected a major decision at 149-lbs. The Blue Devils also received wins by decision from Levi Craig, Frank Cornely, Brandon Foose and Daniel Shvartsman. Shvartsman now has a team leading 29 victories this year. Tim Marcantonio was awarded a win by forfeit for the Blue Devils.
