PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ? The Duke wrestling team placed eighth at Sunday's Keystone Classic, finishing the tournament with 42 points. The Blue Devils had three grapplers post top-ten finishes, highlighted by a fourth-place finish from junior Antwone Floyd in the 141-pound weight class.
Duke placed eighth out of ten teams at the Keystone Classic, which was won by the University of Pennsylvania. Floyd registered his fourth-place finish at 141 pounds, losing to Boston University's Joey Whittaker in the third-place match. Floyd also recorded one of the fastest falls at the Keystone Classic, winning his match against Appalachian State's Marcus Cox in 2:32.
Sophomore Dan Tulley took home fifth place at 184 pounds, defeating Brown University's Brandon Stearns, 6-5. In the 149-pound weight class, sophomore Wes Kuser placed sixth, losing to Tim Smith of Brown University, 2-1, in the fifth-place match. Freshman Mike Tunick also recorded one of the fastest falls in the tournament, defeating Wagner College's John Cichon in 3:47.
The Duke grapplers will next compete at the UNC Open in Chapel Hill on Saturday, Nov. 26. The Blue Devils will then wrestle in the Las Vegas Open Dec. 2-3.
