Sophomore Laura Kurz came off the bench to score a first half best 13 points on 5-8 shooting. She also hit a season-best three treys in the first half. For the game, Kurz finished with a game-high 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. It marked the third time this season she has scored double-figure points.
Junior Lindsey Harding hit a 35-foot three-pointer as time expired in the first half. The Duke team had been practicing the long-range shots after Duke men's player Sean Dockery hit a 45-footer to win the game on Sunday against Virginia Tech.
Duke had 17 turnovers in the first half and finished with season-high 23 for the game. For the first time this season, the Blue Devils had more turnovers than their opponent.
After hitting 4-of-12 three-pointers at Texas on Sunday, the Blue Devils hit 5-of-11 from downtown in the first half and finished with 7-of-17 for the game.
With her two blocks on the night, junior Alison Bales moved into a tie for 10th place on the ACC all-time blocked shots list along with Trena Trice of N.C. State. Bales owns 184 over her three-year career.
As a team, Duke hit a season-high 25 free throws. On the night, the Blue Devils hit 25-of-33. The 33 attempts was also a season high.
Monique Currie hit 5-of-6 free throws to move her into sole possession of 14th place on the ACC career free throws attempted list (558) and seventh place on the ACC career free throws made list (431).
Duke will return home for exams which will begin on Monday and will be off from games for 13 days before hosting Ball State on Dec. 19 at 7:00 p.m.
