Since 1980, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham has provided loving shelter to more than 20,000 families whose children were being treated in local hospitals, weaving their stories into the fabric that makes their House a home. People helped have come from every county in North Carolina, 43 other states and nine foreign countries. Currently, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham is undergoing a campaign to build a new house near Duke University hospital. The new house will be almost five times bigger than the current one and will triple the number of families served.

Each week in conjunction with the Duke Radio Network, the Ronald McDonald House of Durham sponsors the Duke Student-Athelte of the Week. Duke is proud to have the Ronald McDonald House of Durham help recogize the outstanding achievements of Duke's student athletes.
