Duke Grapplers To Square Off Against UNC Greensboro On Wednesday

DURHAM, N.C. ? The Duke wrestling team will look for its first win of the season on Wednesday, squaring off against UNC Greensboro in Fleming Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
Duke enters Wednesday's dual meet 0-5 after dropping their first five contests of the year. The Blue Devils lost all three of their meets at the ACC-Southern Conference Mat Jam Duals on Nov. 13, falling to Tennessee-Chattanooga, 32-3, to Appalachian State, 21-16, and to VMI, 22-15. Duke fell to The Citadel, 28-12, on Jan. 9 in Charleston, S.C., before falling to N.C. State, 26-7, last Monday in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Scouting the UNCG Spartans
UNC Greensboro boasts a 7-1 mark entering Wednesday's dual meet. The Spartans have posted wins over Anderson College, Virginia, Gardner-Webb, Campbell, Davidson, Buffalo and Appalachian State. Their lone loss of the season came to No. 17 Edinboro on Jan. 14.
Three Spartans are currently ranked in the Top-20 of their respective weight classes in the USA Today/NWCA/InterMat Coaches Poll. Senior Tyler Shovlin ranks 14th in the heavyweight division, junior Daren Burns ranks 19th at 197 pounds and senior Kevin Artis ranks 20th at 141 pounds.

UNC Greensboro holds a 6-5 overall record against Duke in series history. The Spartans won the last meeting between the two teams, defeating the Blue Devils, 22-13, on Feb. 8 of last season.
