Duke won its 32nd-straight game in the month of December
- The Blue Devils improved to 11-0 to start the season for the third time under Head Coach Gail Goestenkors and the fourth time in school history.
- Duke's defense held SMU to 21.5 percent shooting from the field marking the eighth time this season the Blue Devils have held an opponent to under 30.0 percent shooting.
- Brittany Mitch came off the bench to score 10 points, grab three rebounds, two steals and two assists in 17 minutes. Her 10 points tied a career high.
- Duke outrebounded its opponent for the 11th straight game this season, 54-39.
- For the first time since the season opener, freshman Joy Cheek pulled down double-figure rebounds as she finished with 10 boards. She also had five points in 19 minutes.
- The Blue Devils held SMU to a season-low 17 points in the first half.
- Senior Alison Bales moved into 17th place on the NCAA all-time blocks list with her four blocks on Wednesday. She now owns 339 for her career.
- After not scoring double-figures against Bowling Green for the first time this season, sophomore Abby Waner came back to register 10 points in the first half and went on to finish with 12 points against SMU.
- Alison Bales finished with 10 points, marking the seventh straight game she has scored double-figure points. She also had nine rebounds in 26 minutes.
- Junior Emily Waner collected a career-high two blocks against SMU. She had two going into the contest with the Mustangs. Waner also hit 2-of-2 three-point field goals marking the sixth straight game she has hit at least one trey.
- The 15.4 field goal percentage in the first half by SMU was a season low allowed by the Blue Devils.
- Sophomore Carrem Gay hit 4-of-6 field goals in the first half and scored eight points in 14 minutes. She went on to finish the game with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting. It marked the fifth time this season she has scored double-figure points.
- Duke held a 25-7 advantage in bench points and 32-14 lead in points in the paint.
