DURHAM, N.C. ? Duke University head wrestling coach Clar Anderson announced Friday the addition of Mark Becks to the Blue Devils coaching staff.
"I am extremely excited about Mark joining our coaching staff," Anderson said. "I believe he will be a tremendous addition to our program."
Becks, a 2003 graduate of Penn State University, joins the Blue Devils with plenty of experience and success in his background. He served as a captain for the Nittany Lions and earned a seventh-place finish at the NCAA tournament during his senior season. Additionally, Becks was a four-year starter and a three-time qualifier for the NCAA tournament. He placed three times in the Big Ten tournament, considered the toughest NCAA conference in the country, including a second-place finish as a senior.
Becks wrestled at 174 and 184 pounds during his collegiate career. He will assist coach Corey Bell in the wresting room, giving Duke a terrific pair of upper weight coaches.
An outstanding student during his time at Penn State, Becks will attend Duke's Fuqua School of Business this fall.
