DURHAM, N.C.?The Duke women's basketball team gave back to the Durham community on Wednesday as the Blue Devils delivered gifts, t-shirts, posters and roster cards to the Agape Corner Group Home in Durham, N.C.
The Blue Devils along with Head Coach Joanne P. McCallie arrived at the home on Wednesday afternoon bearing gifts, smiles and warm hearts. Currently there are 26 boys and girls at the home that range from first graders through 12th graders. The Blue Devils spent a little time with the kids and staff, while obtaining a tour of where they live.
Each member of the Duke team and staff donated money and the Blue Devils purchased gifts to help the Agape School. In a very nice gesture by the Agape Corner Group Home, they presented Coach McCallie as well as all of the team and coaches a pointseta and Christmas ornaments.
Hopefully with the gifts and love the Blue Devils arrived with on Wednesday, the children and staff will have a wonderful Christmas, excellent year in 2008 and won over some new Duke fans.
