DURHAM, N.C. ? Konrad Dudziak of the Duke wrestling team has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week.
A junior from Bayonne, N.J., Dudziak has gotten off to a superb start this season and recently posted two strong finishes in major holiday tournaments. Ranked No. 11 nationally in the heavyweight class, he took second place last week in the Reno Tournament of Champions, then finished third this week in the annual Southern Scuffle in Greensboro.
Dudziak, who competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials last summer, owns a 23-2 record so far this season. His only defeats have come to opponents who were ranked No. 1 and No. 9 in the country.
