Jorge Named Ronald McDonald House AOTW

DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University freshman wrestler Brent Jorge has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Athlete of the Week after bringing home his second consecutive tournament title this past weekend at the Pembroke Classic.

Jorge posted a 6-0 record over the weekend to push his overall mark as a rookie to 11-0. He cruised through the 149-pound bracket, registering falls in the third round and the quarterfinal. After reaching the semifinal by pinning Nick Rex of Campbell in just 22 seconds, the native of Lakeland, Fla., shut down Brandon Bradley of UNC Pembroke 3-0 to earn a spot in the championship round.

Going up against Joe Mavins, Jorge emerged with a 5-3 overtime decision to remain unbeaten on the year. The rookie owns a team-high four falls on the year.
