Duke suffered its first loss in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, falling to 10-1 in the challenge. The road loss was the first in five tries for the Blue Devils in the Challenge.
Duke shot better from the field and the three-point line than the Badgers but Wisconsin committed only five turnovers in the game. The Blue Devils have shot over 40 percent from the floor in six of the seven games.
The Blue Devils shot .938 (15-of-16) from the free throw line, marking the second time this season they have shot over 90 percent from the charity stripe. Duke also shot .941 (16-of-17) against Radford and is now shooting .799 for the year.
Duke was outrebounded for the first time in seven games this season as Wisconsin held a 34-32 edge on the glass. Entering the game the Blue Devils had a +9.8 rebounding margin, averaging 44 rebounds per contest.
Freshman Andre Dawkins scored 12 points to give him 10 or more points in four games this season.
Dawkins has made a three-point field goal in each of his first seven career games, leading the team with 19 made treys. He has two or more three-pointers in six of the seven games with this his second game with at least four treys. He was 4-of-4 from three in the game.
Freshman Mason Plumlee made his collegiate debut against the Badgers after missing Duke's first six games of the season due to a fractured left wrist. He played 10 minutes in his debut.
Junior Kyle Singler extended his consecutive starts streak to 34 games and has now started in 77 career contests.
Singler posted his third game this season with 20 or more points and 18th career game with a career high 28 points. He has reached double figures in scoring in 65 career contests.
Singler scored 17 points in the first half, marking the 11th time in his career he has scored 15 or more in one half. Five of the 11 times he has had at least 15 in the first half, including the Coastal Carolina game earlier this season. The 17 points were tied for the fourth most Singler has scored in a single half. His top total was 19 in the second half against Virginia Tech last season.
Senior Brian Zoubek played in his 100th career game at Duke. He joins Jon Scheyer (111) and Lance Thomas (107) as players on the current roster with at least 100 games played.
