DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Basketball will tip off the 2026-27 season with Countdown to Craziness on Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing the Blue Devil men's and women's teams together with fans for an evening of entertainment, on-court competitions, team introductions and more at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The celebration begins at 3 p.m. in Card Gym Lot and Krzyzewskiville, adjacent to Cameron Indoor Stadium, with a Fan Fest that is free and open to the public. The outdoor festivities will feature local food trucks, a basketball court, inflatables, games, music, a beer garden and more. The Duke men's and women's basketball teams will make their blue carpet appearances at Fan Fest beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Fans can also add to their Countdown experience with two special ticketed opportunities - the Duke Basketball Tour and Cameron Crazie Photo Experience. The 30-minute Duke Basketball Tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the program with stops at the Duke Basketball Museum, media room, K-Center and Cameron Indoor Stadium, capped by a photo on Coach K Court. The Cameron Crazie Photo Experience gives fans the chance to get game-day ready with face paint and props before a professional photo shoot and their own personalized Duke Basketball magazine cover. These unique opportunities will be offered from 3-6 p.m. Space for both experiences is limited, and advance purchase is encouraged.
Doors to Cameron Indoor Stadium open at 6 p.m., with programming beginning at 7 p.m. The evening inside Cameron will feature performances by the Duke spirit squad and pep band before the 2026-27 Blue Devils take center stage. Following introductions of the men's and women's teams, head coach
Kara Lawson's women's team will compete in a 3-on-3 showcase, while head coach
Jon Scheyer's men's team will take part in an intrasquad scrimmage and dunk contest.
The Duke men open the regular season against Army West Point on Monday, Nov. 2, at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Before the regular-season opener, the Blue Devils host Belmont for a scrimmage on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Tennessee for an exhibition on Tuesday, Oct. 20, before traveling to Kansas for an exhibition Sunday, Oct. 25.
The Duke women open the 2026-27 season Tuesday, Nov. 3, against Green Bay at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
