No. 6-ranked Duke had its 2008-09 season come to an end in a 77-54 loss to No. 11 Villanova on Thursday, March 26, 2009, in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Mass. The Blue Devils end the season with a 30-7 record.
Duke In The NCAA Tournament
? Duke is making its 33rd NCAA Tournament appearance, including its 14th straight.
? The Blue Devils are now 88-30 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
? Coach K has an all-time record of 71-22 in the NCAA Tournament.

Duke vs. Villanova Series
? Duke and Villanova met for the 11th time on Thursday with the Blue Devils holding a 7-4 lead in the series following the loss.
? Thursday marked the fourth time the two schools have met in the NCAA Tournament. Duke won the previous two in 1978 and 1964. Villanova defeated the Blue Devils in 1955.
? Duke has a 104-44 all-time record against schools currently in the Big East Conference, including a 2-1 record this season. The Blue Devils also defeated Georgetown and St. John's during the regular season.
Duke In March
? Duke fell to 6-2 in the month of March during the 2008-09 season. They now have a 133-55 all-time record in the month of March under Coach K.

1,000 Career Points
? There have been 59 players in Duke history to score over 1,000 career points. The total for the Blue Devils is tied for the second most in Division I with Louisville. The only school with more 1,000-point scorers is North Carolina (62).
? Duke now has four current players with over 1,000 career points. It is only the second time in school history the Blue Devils have had four active players with 1,000 career points. The only previous team with four players over 1,000 career points was in 1985-86 with Johnny Dawkins, Mark Alarie, David Henderson and Jay Bilas. The four current players who have scored at least 1,000 points in their career are Jon Scheyer (32nd, 1,349), Gerald Henderson 39th (1,262), Greg Paulus (41st, 1,193) and Kyle Singler (53rd, 1,060).
Offensive Notes

Greg Paulus
? Senior Greg Paulus played in his 139th career game at Duke, moving him into a tie for ninth in school history.

Jon Scheyer
? Junior Jon Scheyer scored 13 points to extend his double figure scoring streak to 12 straight games. He has scored 10 or more points in 30 games overall this season.

Kyle Singler
