The field includes seven of the nation's top 25 teams, including top-ranked Cornell and at least 74 of the 200 individuals ranked in their weight classes. Tickets to the event are available for $15 for adults, $5 for students and can be purchased by calling the Greensboro Coliseum box office at 1-800-745-3000.
Headlining the Blue Devils in the field will be redshirt freshman Bret Klopp at 174 pounds. The native of Lander, Wyo., sports a 17-4 overall record and has placed among the top three in three tournaments. He sports a team-high 11 falls and is 11-1 overall in matches decided in pins.
Diego Bencomo leads the squad at 184 pounds with a 12-7 overall record on the year. He took fourth at the Keystone Classic and most recently went 3-2 at the prestigious Cliff Keen Invitational. Senior Mike Bells is having a strong senior season in the 141-pound division with an 8-7 mark, while redshirt sophomore David Henry is 10-7 at 165 pounds with two top-four finishes.
The duo of rookies Brian Self and Ryan Harding have started well for the Blue Devils through the first four tournaments. Competing at 197 pounds, Self is 8-7 overall and owns to top-four finishes. Harding, wrestling at 157 pounds, is 9-7 overall with two top four finishes under his belt.
Duke will begin its dual match season on Jan. 11, hosting The Citadel in Cameron Indoor Stadium at 6 p.m.
