DURHAM, N.C. – The 2010-11 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Preseason rankings were released on Friday and Duke women's tennis had four players ranked in the top 50 in singles and three doubles teams ranked in the top 30.
Senior transfer Nadine Fahoum headlines the Duke contingency at No. 24, while teammates Reka Zsilinszka is No. 25, Ellah Nze is No. 29 and Elizabeth Plotkin rounded out the top 50 for Duke at No. 50 in the singles rankings.
Along with four players in the top 50 in singles, Duke placed three teams of doubles in the ITA Preseason doubles rankings. The duo of Monica Gorny and Mary Clayton took the top spot for the Blue Devils coming in at No. 9. Following Gorny and Clayton, Nze and Fahoum are ranked No. 19 and Plotkin and Zsilinszka are ranked No. 30.
Duke will open its season hosting the Duke Fab Four Invite on Sept. 17 in Cary, N.C. A total of 20 teams will compete in the three day tournament beginning on Friday.
