Williams Earns Third ACC Rookie of the Week Accolade

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke University freshman Elizabeth Williams was selected Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, after guiding the Blue Devils to a victory over UNC Wilmington prior to Christmas break.
The honor for Williams is her third of the season becoming just the fifth Blue Devil in school history to be named ACC Rookie of the Week three or more times.
In the lone game of the week, Williams had 16 points, six rebounds, a career-high five assists, three blocks and three steals in 27 minutes of action for the Blue Devils. The rookie from Virginia Beach, Va., helped lead Duke to its 30th-straight victory at home in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Williams hit 7-of-13 field goals and had her streak of consecutive field goals made end with 12 in the contest. She has registered double-figure scoring in four straight games entering break.
Duke will next travel to Temple on Dec. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
