PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The Duke women's tennis team made it a clean sweep on Wednesday at the Riviera All-American as the Blue Devils won two doubles matches and one singles contest to advance to the main draw at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
In singles action, 27th-ranked
Beatrice Capra totaled a 6-1, 6-2 victory over 76th-ranked Georgiana Patrasc to advance to the main draw against 21st-ranked Natalie Beazant of Rice.
The Duke duo of
Ester Goldfeld and
Annie Mulholland won a pair of matches in doubles play to advance to the main draw. Goldfeld/Mulholland posted an 8-5 win over 43rd-ranked Lorraine Guillermo and Alejandra Granillo and downed Jamie Loeb and Hayley Carter of UNC, 8-1. In the first round of main draw, the Duke tandem will face Li Xi and Stephanie Nauta of Virginia.
