CARY, N.C. – The season-opening Duke Fab Four Invitational came to a close on Sunday at the Cary Tennis Center in Cary, N.C.

Alyssa Smith got things started for the Blue Devils with a 7-6 (5), 7-5 victory over Ansley Speaks of Furman in the consolation singles third place match in the blue bracket. Senior
Hanna Mar, who also competed in the blue bracket, dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision to Florida's Kourtney Keegan on Sunday in the fifth place bracket.

Marianne Jodoin, who is ranked 78th in the preseason ITA rankings, dropped a 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 (6) match to Carla Tur Mari of Oklahoma State to close her weekend of action.
Ester Goldfeld, who is out of Brooklyn, N.Y., fell, 1-6, 0-6 to 75th-ranked Olivia Janowicz of Florida in the white bracket third place match on Sunday. She finished the weekend with a 2-2 record in singles play.
Taking the stop slot in the white singles bracket was Breauna Addison of Texas with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jamie Loeb of North Carolina. Hayley Cart of UNC totaled a 6-2, 6-4 win over Sofie Oyen of Florida in the black singles bracket final, while Kelsey Laurente of Miami downed Whitney Kay of North Carolina, 7-5-6-4 in the singles blue bracket final.
