Quinn Cook scored double-digit points for the 18th game this season. Cook moved into 44th on Duke's all-time scorers list with 1,260 points.
• Cook's 3-of-6 (.500) shooting performance from beyond the arc extended his consecutive games with a made three-pointer streak to an ACC-leading 30. Cook's last game without at least one made three pointer came against Maryland on Feb. 15, 2014.
On the Offensive End• Duke outscored its opponent in the first half for the 18th game this season. The Blue Devils are averaging a 9.9 ppg. scoring margin over their opposition this season in the first half.
• Duke connected on seven three pointers, the 14th game this season where the Blue Devils hit seven or more shots from beyond the arc. In those contests, Duke is shooting a combined 41.7 percent (123-of-295) from three point range, winning 13 of the 15 contests when making seven or more threes.
Duke's Defense• Duke forced Notre Dame to commit 11 turnovers. The Blue Devils have forced teams into double-digit miscues in 19 of the squad's 20 games this year.
• Duke allowed a team to score more than 75 points for just the fourth game this season.
Fresh Faces• For the 20th straight game, three freshmen (
Tyus Jones,
Jahlil Okafor and
Justise Winslow) started, marking the 55th time during the Coach K era three freshmen started. In 1982-83, three or more freshmen started 27 games, the highest number of games with three or more freshmen starting under Coach K.
• Wednesday's contest marked the fourth time this season that three or more freshman scored double digit points for the Blue Devils. (Okafor-22, T. Jones-14, Winslow-13).
• A freshman served as Duke's leading scorer for the 15th game, with Okafor scoring a team-high 22 points on 10-of-18 (.556) shooting.
• Okafor recorded his seventh double-double of the season after notching 22 points and 17 rebounds, making him the fourth freshman in Duke history to record seven or more double-doubles in a rookie season.
• Okafor brought down 15 or more rebounds for the third time this season, making him just the second freshman in program history to post more than two games with 15 or more rebounds.
• Okafor's 12 defensive rebounds matched Luol Deng (vs. Maryland, 3/14/2004) and Josh McRoberts (vs. George Washington, 3/18/2006) for the most by a freshman in program history.
• Okafor's 17 rebounds are the second most by the freshman this season. He brought down 20 boards against Elon on Dec. 15 to set a Duke freshman record.
