DURHAM, N.C.—With final exams and the first semester in the rearview mirror, the Duke wrestling team will look ahead and open its dual season Tuesday at Appalachian State. The first match is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m., in Varsity Gym.

Blue Devils in the Rankings
The Blue Devils have been holding steady in InterMat's top 25 rankings this season. Duke currently sits at No. 24 as a team and has a pair of individuals in the top 20. Conner Hartmann, in search of a third All-America honor, headlines the squad at No. 3 at 197, while Jake Faust is 16th at 165 by InterMat. Duke is 15th as a team in the FloWrestling chart and Faust is seventh. Hartmann is No. 3 across the board in all polls.
Series History
Duke and Appalachian State are meeting for the 20th time in the programs' histories. The Mountaineers lead the all-time series 12-7, but the Blue Devils have won four of the previous five outings. Duke bested Appalachian State last year 24-17. The Mountaineers' last win over Duke was a 29-6 triumph in 2010.
Duke Probable Lineup
There will be a lot of familiar faces in the Blue Devil lineup Tuesday night. Zach Finesilver is the new face and could potentially get his first action in a dual match at 141 pounds. Trey Adamson is lining up at 184 pounds for the first time in a dual match, while Xaviel Ramos will make his first dual appearance at 133.

About Appalachian State
Appalachian State enters Tuesday's dual with a 3-2 overall record. The Blue Devils will be the third consecutive ACC school the Mountaineers have wrestled this season, falling to North Carolina (12-24) and NC State (14-21) in recent weeks. Heavyweight Denzel Dejournette headlines the lineup at No. 11 nationally with a 12-1 overall record. His lone loss came against No. 1 Nick Gwiazdowski of NC State.

Recapping Early Portion of 2015-16 Campaign
Duke has wrestled in a pair of tournaments so far this season. The Blue Devils own 13 top-six finishes in the Hokie Open and Wolfpack Open, including Hokie titles for Conner Hartmann, Connor Bass and Jake Faust. Hartmann and Faust have not wrestled in a match since the Hokie Open in early November and Brendan Walsh will return in a Duke singlet after competing unattached in the fall.

The Blue Devils will take a short break for the holidays before returning to campus just after Christmas for a few practices prior to the prestigious Southern Scuffle Jan. 1 -3.
