Grayson Allen opened the contest by scoring double-digit first half points for the 10th game this season, heading into the break with 12 points. Allen finished with 16 points on 6-of-14 (.429) shooting from the field. Duke is 19-0 all-time when Allen scores double-digit points.
Duke's Defense• Duke's defense did not allow Virginia Tech to connect on a first half three-point field goal, the first time this season a Blue Devil opponent failed to hit a three pointer in the opening half. The Hokies shot 1-of-12 (.083) from beyond the arc, the fewest three pointers made and the lowest three-point field goal percentage by a Duke opponent this season.

Brandon Ingram blocked a career-high six shots, tied for fifth on Duke's freshman list. Ingram is averaging 1.7 bpg. this year, ranking second on Duke's blocked shots per game by a freshman list.
Duke on the Offensive End• Duke went into the break with a 50-23 lead, tied for the team's second-largest advantage going into half this season. The Blue Devils moved to 5-0 this season when scoring 50-or-more points in the first half.
• The Blue Devils opened the game by connecting on four consecutive three-point field goals and ended the half shooting 8-of-17 (.471) from beyond the arc. The 47.1 three-point field goal percentage in the opening half is the fourth-best of the season for Duke.

Plumlee is shooting 13-of-14 (.929) from the field and 13-of-14 (.929) from the free throw line over the last two games.
